What happened
Following its initial departure from the Barranquaksilla-Ernesto Cortissoz Airport, the flight crew encountered an unforeseen issue that necessitated an immediate return to the airfield. Upon landing, the aircraft proceeded down the runway for approximately 100 meters before attempting a second takeoff. During this subsequent climb, the plane reached an altitude of roughly 20 meters before experiencing a stall and crashing onto the runway.
The accident resulted in four fatalities, including three crew members and one passenger, while two other individuals on board sustained serious injuries. The aircraft was completely destroyed during the impact. Investigations noted that the flight was operating without a filed flight plan. Additionally, authorities discovered several firearms and 50 plastic drums, typically associated with narcotics manufacturing, within the wreckage.
Findings
Investigators identified that the crew consisted of four individuals who had previously served as pilots in the Colombian Air Force. The primary factor leading to the crash was a stall occurring during the second takeoff attempt.
