What happened
During a nighttime approach to the runway 27 at Słupsk-Redzikowo Airport, the flight crew failed to maintain an adequate altitude. While descending, the aircraft collided with trees located along a roadside. This impact caused the plane to lose further altitude before it crashed into a field covered in snow, approximately two kilometers from the start of the runway. Upon impact, the airframe caught fire and was completely destroyed.
Of the 52 people on board, one fatality was recorded. The remaining 51 occupants were successfully rescued from the wreckage, with 33 injuries reported among the survivors.
Findings
Investigations into the accident concluded that the crew failed to recognize that the aircraft was at an insufficient height. This error was attributed to a misinterpretation of the altimeters or the use of incorrect altimeter settings during the descent.
