What happened
During an approach to Mörön Airport, the flight crew began their descent into the area despite experiencing marginal weather conditions. While maneuvering for landing, the aircraft impacted the side of a mountain situated approximately 12 km from the destination airport.
The impact resulted in a high number of casualties. Out of the total occupants on board, 42 people were killed in the crash. One passenger survived the event but sustained serious injuries.
