Incident
A pilot intentionally crashed a light aircraft into a four-story residential building in Novosibirsk, Russia, on an undisclosed date. The pilot, motivated by marital problems, decided to commit suicide and took off alone from Novosibirsk-Severny Airport. He directed the aircraft into the building located at ul. Stepnaya, d. 43/1, where his wife and son were living. The impact triggered a strong fire that affected the staircase and damaged approximately 30 flats.
Casualties and Damage
The pilot was killed in the crash. Four occupants of the building also died, including three children. None of the deceased in the building were related to the pilot. Additionally, 11 other individuals were injured, none of whom were relatives of the pilot. The fire caused significant damage to the building's structure, with around 30 flats impacted.
Investigation
Official findings attributed the incident to pilot suicide. No other causes or contributing factors were identified in the investigation.
