What happened
On an international delivery mission traveling from Russia toward India, an aircraft departed from Muscat-Seleg Airport at 13:28 local time. The flight was destined for Jamnagar, located in the Gujarat state of India.
During the cruise phase of the flight, the aircraft vanished from radar monitoring. The crew failed to transmit any emergency signals or distress communications prior to the loss of contact. Following the disappearance, search and rescue operations were launched to locate the missing plane. However, these efforts were terminated several days later after no wreckage or debris could be located.
It is suspected that the aircraft crashed into the Oman Sea, approximately 450 km west of the Gujarat coastline.
Findings
Because no physical evidence or wreckage was recovered from the ocean floor, investigators were unable to establish a definitive reason for the disappearance. The lack of evidence prevented any conclusive determination regarding the circumstances leading to the loss of the flight.
