What happened
The incident involved a training sortie conducted on behalf of the 32nd Operational Training Unit (OTU). The flight originated at Patricia Bay, and while en route to its destination, the aircraft experienced a mechanical failure. Specifically, the right engine ceased functioning, which forced the crew to abandon the machine over water. The ditching occurred in the Pacific Ocean, located roughly 250 km southwest of Vancouver. The precise coordinates of the accident site are 48°10'00.0"N 126°09'00.0"W.
Following the impact with the water, the aircraft began to sink and was ultimately lost. Emergency response teams located the survivors in the water. All three crew members were rescued successfully and did not suffer fatal injuries. The aircraft itself was not recovered from the seabed.
