What happened
The flight commenced as a cross-country navigational exercise departing from Medicine Hat. During the maneuvering phase over Rose Lynn, the aircraft was flying at a low altitude when it collided with the roof of a structure. The impact caused significant damage to the elevators, rendering the airplane uncontrollable. Following the loss of control, the aircraft descended and impacted the ground, immediately bursting into flames.
The accident resulted in 5 fatalities. All individuals on board perished in the incident. The crew consisted of an instructor pilot and three pilots, while one passenger was also aboard at the time of the crash.
