What happened
Following a flight path that took it over the Cayman Islands and the Yucatan Province, an unidentified aircraft entered Venezuelan airspace without receiving prior clearance. During its transit, the aircraft was intercepted and pursued by F-16 fighter jets over the Lake of Maracaibo.
The pursuit continued until the aircraft crashed within the Jesús María Semprún municipality. While the exact circumstances surrounding the impact remain unconfirmed, the aircraft was destroyed upon hitting the ground. Initial reports indicate that there was no fire at the crash site and there were no casualties reported from the incident.
Findings
