Fatal Mountain Strike Involving JA8825 Near Fukuoka

Incident Overview and Flight Details On a maritime patrol mission departing Fukuoka Airport, a twin-engine aircraft bearing the registration JA8825 (also identified as MA825) encountered adverse weather conditions shortly after takeoff. The flight was intended to operate off the prefecture of Nagasaki. During the initial climb phase, the crew faced poor visibility and low cloud cover, which significantly limited their situational awareness. The aircraft subsequently collided with the slope of Mt Tachizawa, a mountain located south of Fukuoka. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the airframe. All five individuals on board the aircraft were killed in the accident.
