Incident
Shortly after takeoff, while in the initial climb phase, both engines of the aircraft failed simultaneously. The captain raised the landing gear and attempted an emergency landing. The airplane performed a belly landing in a field and came to rest near the departure airport.
Injuries and Damage
All five occupants sustained injuries, with one person reported as seriously injured. The aircraft was destroyed by the impact and subsequent forces.
Probable Cause
The official investigation determined that the probable cause of the accident was inadequate preflight preparation by the crew, specifically the failure to pre-heat the engine oil before flight. The oil, which was thick and cold, did not provide sufficient lubrication, leading to the failure of both engines.
