What happened
During the final approach phase to Concan-Angermiller Airport, a twin engine aircraft collided with overhead power cables. The impact caused the plane to enter a stall, leading to a crash in an open field located just before the runway threshold. The collision resulted in a post-crash fire that completely destroyed the airframe.
There were five people on board at the time of the accident. All five occupants sustained injuries during the impact and subsequent fire.
Findings
Investigations into the accident determined that the primary factor was the pilot's failure to identify and maneuver around unmarked TV cables positioned in the flight path.
