What happened
While performing a cargo mission to transport various equipment for the Commission Nationale de Désarmement et de Réinsertion (Conader), the aircraft began its approach amidst heavy rainfall. Upon touching down on a wet runway, the flight crew was unable to decelerate the aircraft sufficiently before the end of the paved surface. The aircraft subsequently overran the runway, causing the landing gear to separate from the airframe. The aircraft eventually came to a halt in a marshy area adjacent to the runway.
Findings
- The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss.
- There were zero fatalities and zero injuries reported among the three occupants on board.
- The primary factor in the overrun was suspected aquaplaning due to the heavy precipitation and wet runway conditions.
