What happened
During an arrival at Belo Horizonte-Tancredo Neves-Confins Airport, a three-engine aircraft experienced a loss of control immediately following touchdown on runway 16. As the aircraft made contact with the runway, it began to veer off the paved surface at a high rate of speed. During the excursion, the aircraft's landing gear was stripped from the airframe.
The aircraft eventually came to a stop after departing the runway. Despite the severity of the impact, there were no fatalities among the occupants. All three crew members on board were able to evacuate the aircraft without injury.
Findings
The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss, as it was deemed beyond repair. The primary factor in the excursion was the loss of directional control following the landing roll.
