What happened
During an arrival from Sialkot, the aircraft was performing its approach to runway 26L at Muscat-Seeb International Airport. The flight proceeded without incident until the moment of touchdown. As the aircraft was in the process of decelerating on the runway, the left main landing gear suffered a structural failure and collapsed.
This collapse caused the left engine to make contact with the runway surface. The aircraft continued to slide for several dozen meters along the pavement before finally coming to a stop near the left edge of the runway.
Findings
All 114 occupants on board were able to evacuate the aircraft without any reported injuries. While there were no fatalities, the aircraft type sustained damage that was determined to be beyond repair. The primary factor in the incident was the collapse of the left main landing gear during the landing roll.
