What happened
During an approach to Manado-Sam Ratulangi Airport, a twin engine airplane encountered adverse weather and restricted visibility. While performing a descent at 3,000 feet, the aircraft collided with the terrain on the side of Mt Lokon, situated approximately 25 km southwest of the destination airport.
The accident resulted in six fatalities, including both pilots and four passengers. Additionally, three injuries were reported among the occupants of the aircraft.
Findings
Preliminary information indicates that the crew initiated their descent before the appropriate stage of flight was reached. This premature descent occurred while the aircraft was navigating through difficult meteorological conditions.
