What happened
On the day of the accident, an aircraft departed from Hamburg-Fulybsüttel Airport. During the initial climb phase following departure, the pilot encountered mechanical difficulties related to the engine and notified air traffic control of the situation. In response to the reported engine problems, the pilot was authorized to perform an emergency return to the airfield.
While the pilot was attempting to maneuver the aircraft back toward the runway, the plane entered an uncontrolled descent during a turn. The aircraft subsequently impacted the ground in the Niendorf district, located in close proximity to the airport. There was one fatality involving the pilot, who was the only person on board at the time of the crash.
