What happened
During a recent flight departing from Chiclayo Airport, the aircraft encountered mechanical difficulties during its initial climb. Following the onset of these technical issues, the crew established communication with Air Traffic Control to report the situation. In response to the reported malfunction, controllers provided clearance for the aircraft to perform an immediate return to the airport.
While attempting the final approach, the aircraft was unable to reach the runway and instead performed an emergency landing approximately 500 metres before the threshold. The impact resulted in the aircraft being damaged beyond repair. Despite the severity of the crash landing, all 8 occupants managed to exit the wreckage and were reported as uninjured.
Findings
- The crew identified and reported technical problems during the climb phase.
