What happened
During a routine training mission, the crew was performing the final approach and landing phase of their flight at Sde Dov Airport in Tel Aviv. As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the nose of the plane dipped forward, causing the aircraft to nosed over. The impact resulted in the airplane coming to rest in an inverted position.
Despite the severity of the maneuver, there were no injuries reported among the two occupants involved in the incident. While the crew managed to exit the wreckage safely, the aircraft sustained significant structural damage and was declared a total loss.
Findings
- The aircraft ended its flight in an upside-down position following a runway excursion.
- The primary factor in the accident was the nose-over motion during the landing sequence.
