What happened
Following recent maintenance work conducted on the left engine, a test flight was initiated to verify the aircraft's performance. The flight departed from Medellín-Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport at 14:42 local time with a total of four people on board, consisting of two pilots and two mechanics.
After completing several circuits within the surrounding region, the crew received clearance to land at approximately 15:24 local time. During the final approach, the aircraft encountered an area characterized by heavy rainfall and intense winds. During this period of severe weather, the flight crew lost control of the plane, which subsequently crashed into a field.
Findings
The accident resulted in two fatalities among the crew members, specifically one mechanic and one co-pilot. The captain and the second mechanic survived the impact but sustained injuries.
