What happened
During a scheduled cargo operation departing from La Paz for San Borja, the flight crew identified mechanical difficulties involving the left engine. In response to these technical complications, air traffic control authorized an emergency diversion to Caranavi.
Upon arriving at the diversion airfield, the aircraft performed a landing; however, following touchdown, the plane became uncontrollable. The aircraft veered off the runway surface and came to a final stop. While the two pilots managed to exit the wreckage without any injuries, the aircraft sustained damage so severe that it was declared a total loss.
Findings
- The primary factor leading to the diversion was unidentified technical malfunctions occurring within the left engine during the flight phase.
