Incident
The aircraft departed Condoto at 1436 local time with an estimated arrival in Cali at 1535 local time. While cruising at an altitude of 12,500 feet north of Cali, the crew encountered poor weather conditions. The aircraft subsequently crashed on a mountainside near Trujillo. The airplane failed to arrive in Cali, prompting search and rescue operations.
The wreckage was discovered four days later, on March 13. The aircraft was destroyed upon impact.
Aircraft and Cargo
The aircraft was carrying five passengers and a crew of three, totaling eight occupants. Also on board was a load of gold and platinum.
Search and Recovery
Search and rescue operations were initiated after the aircraft did not arrive in Cali. The wreckage was found four days after the accident, on March 13, on a mountainside near Trujillo.
Victims
All eight occupants—five passengers and three crew members—were killed in the crash.
