What happened

At 07:40 local time, the flight departed Orito. Approximately nine minutes into the flight, while navigating through adverse weather conditions, the crew contacted air traffic control to report they were passing through an altitude of 7,5-00 feet. Following this report, the aircraft was granted permission to climb to 11,500 feet.

One minute after receiving the clearance, the aircraft disappeared from radar. The twin engine aircraft subsequently broke apart mid-air before impacting a field in the vicinity of La Montañita. The accident resulted in five fatalities.
