What happened

A training mission involving paratroopers departed from Campo dos Afonsos AFB when the twin engine aircraft experienced a mechanical malfunction while airborne. Before the loss of control occurred, all ten skydivers successfully exited the plane. Following the jumps, the aircraft became uncontrollable and impacted the ground in the Barra de Tijacia region, approximately 12 kilometers south of the departure airfield.

The accident resulted in four fatalities and nine survivors among the passengers. While nine of the skydivers managed to land without injury, one individual died because their parachute failed to deploy correctly. The three members of the flight crew were all killed in the impact. During the recovery efforts, wreckage from the aircraft was discovered 1,500 meters away from the primary crash site.
