What happened
During a scheduled cargo operation from Kananga to Goma, which included a planned stop in Lodja, an aircraft carrying a mix of goods, six crew members, and four passengers crashed near the destination. While performing the final approach to Runway 31 at Goma Airport, the flight encountered severe weather characterized by heavy rainfall and significantly reduced visibility.
As the aircraft descended, it struck the roof of a residential building before crashing into a garden within a nearby neighborhood. The impact caused the aircraft to come to rest in an inverted position. The accident resulted in seven fatalities and left three passengers with serious injuries.
