What happened
During the landing phase of the flight, the aircraft experienced a mechanical failure involving one of the main landing gear assemblies. As the aircraft made contact with the runway, the gear collapsed, causing the plane to lose stability. Following the collapse, the aircraft slid along the runway surface for several dozen meters before the movement ceased.
There were no injuries reported among the occupants, as everyone on board was able to evacuate the aircraft safely following the incident. While the crew and passengers escaped without harm, the structural damage sustained by the aircraft was severe. The impact and subsequent slide resulted in the aircraft being declared a total loss, as it was damaged beyond repair.
Findings
- The primary event was the collapse of a main landing gear component during touchdown.
- The aircraft remained on the runway surface throughout the excursion.
- All individuals on board successfully exited the aircraft without sustaining injuries.
