Overview
On 15 January 2025 at 13:00 UTC, a Piper PA-25-235 (registration LV-VAT) operating an agricultural flight impacted medium-voltage wiring, lost control, and impacted terrain in a rural area near Villa Mantero, Entre Ríos, Argentina. The flight had departed from an agro-aerial field in Villa Mantero and was engaged in low-flying operations typical of agricultural work.

The single-engine Piper PA-25-235 (serial number 25-7556037) sustained substantial damage. The aircraft was equipped with a Lycoming 540 series engine (serial number L-16616-40A) and a McCauley propeller (model 1A200/FA8452, serial number 101670). Its certificate of airworthiness was valid, but maintenance documentation was noted as not current.
Pilot Information
The 29-year-old male pilot, the sole occupant, held an aeroplane pilot license issued by the State of Registry and had the required rating for the operation. He was wearing an upper body restraint. No injuries were reported.

The Argentine Transport Safety Board (JST) is conducting the investigation. Preliminary factors under examination include the specific low-altitude task and the aircraft's impact with an obstacle (power cables). The investigation will also explore potential performance-affecting factors such as heat, hydration, and fatigue. No probable cause has been determined at this stage.
