Incident Overview
On 27 January 2023 at 11:50 UTC, a Piper PA-34-200-T aircraft, registration LV-BHL, operated by a private owner as a general aviation recreational flight, experienced a system/component failure during landing at Aeropuerto Internacional Astor Piazzolla in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The aircraft had departed from Aeropuerto La Plata, with a flight duration of 1 hour 15 minutes.
Event Description
During the landing rollout, the nose landing gear tire inflation valve failed, causing the aircraft to come to a stop on the runway. The failure was isolated to the non-powerplant system. The aircraft sustained no damage, and there were no injuries to the sole occupant (the pilot) or any other persons. The meteorological conditions at the time were visual meteorological conditions (VMC).
Investigation Outcome
The Argentine aviation authority (Junta de Seguridad en el Transporte) conducted a preliminary analysis and determined that the occurrence did not affect operational safety. Consequently, the investigation was closed without further action, and the case was filed.
