What happened
On December 11, 2022, at approximately 13:00 UTC, a ground collision occurred at Aeroparque Internacional Jorge Newbery in Buenos Aires. The incident involved a Dassault Falcon 7, registration N244JE, which had recently arrived from Teterboro, New Jersey.
While taxiing toward the platform following its landing, the left winglet of the Dass/ault Falcon 7 made contact with the radome of a parked Fokker F28, registration TC53, belonging to the Argentine Air Force. The Fokker F28 was stationary in the southern military sector of the apron at the time of the contact. Both aircraft sustained minor damage as a result of the collision.
The investigation
The Argentine Transportation Safety Board (JST) conducted a technical review of the event. Investigators examined the circumstances surrounding the taxi maneuver and the physical condition of both aircraft following the contact. The investigation focused on the movement of the private aircraft and its interaction with the stationary military aircraft on the apron.
Findings
- The collision was caused by the contact between the winglet of the taxiing aircraft and the radome of the parked aircraft.
- The Dassault Falcon 7 was in the taxi phase of operation after completing a flight from KTEB to SABE.
- The Fokker F28 was in a parked state on the apron.
- There were no injuries to the crew or passengers of either aircraft.
