What happened
On June 16, 2022, a Learjet 60, registration LV-BZJ, was conducting a non-scheduled commercial flight from Bariloche to San Fernando. While cruising at flight level 390, the aircraft's emergency pressurization system activated, resulting in the deployment of passenger oxygen masks.
Upon the activation of the emergency system, the pilot issued an urgency message and immediately initiated an emergency descent. The aircraft subsequently diverted to the Juan Domingo Perón International Airport in Neuqu엔. The flight concluded with a safe landing at the Neuquén aerodrome, and there were no injuries reported among the two passengers or the crew.
The investigation
The Argentine Transportation Safety Board (JST) reviewed the circumstances surrounding the event. The investigation focused on the technical failure that triggered the emergency protocols. The authorities evaluated the operational response of the crew and the mechanical status of the aircraft's pressurization components.
