What happened
The incident occurred while the aircraft was on final approach. Weather conditions at the time included falling snow and active icing. During this phase of flight, the three-engine aircraft, identified by the name Charles Haar, lost control. The loss of control led to a crash, resulting in the death of all six occupants aboard the machine.
Findings
The official investigation determined that icing was the primary factor contributing to the accident. The accumulation of ice on the airframe during the approach phase compromised the aircraft's handling characteristics, leading to the loss of control.
