What happened
While performing a takeoff roll at Iruma Air Base, an aircraft experienced a loss of directional control. The incident occurred amidst heavy snowfall conditions. During the maneuver, the aircraft departed the runway surface and veered off course. As it left the prepared surface, the landing gear was lost.
The aircraft continued to slide for approximately 500 meters along the ground. The force of the excursion caused both wings to be torn from the airframe before the vehicle finally came to a stop. There were seven injuries reported among the crew members involved in the flight.
