On 23 April 2024, a helicopter with registration RA-04310 performed a flight from the landing site Bun'kovo to a geographical point at coordinates 55°49′35″ N, 036°45′39″ E and back to Bun'kovo. The purpose of the flight was to test a new flight pattern in the aerobatic zone.

Flight Planning and Permission

The flight plan for visual flight rules (VFR) in the declared area at altitudes from 0 to 300 meters was submitted on 22 April 2024 by specialists of the Aviation Training Center "Heliport Istra" to the Regional Center of the Single System of Air Traffic Management via an internet-based flight plan submission system. Permission for the flight was issued on 22 April 2024 at 11:20 UTC by the duty shift of the Center for Planning and Use of Airspace of the Regional Center of the Single System of Air Traffic Management. According to a letter from the Moscow ATC Center, the flight was conducted in class G airspace (0 to 450 meters AMSL) under the responsibility of the Tver Air Traffic Control Center. No violations of Russian air legislation by air traffic service facilities were recorded during the organization and execution of the flight.

Pre-Flight Procedures

The pilot did not undergo a medical examination before the flight. This is in accordance with the requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAP-128), which state that if an aerodrome lacks a medical worker qualified to conduct pre-flight medical examinations, such examinations are not required, and the commander decides on crew fitness. Pre-flight preparation of the helicopter was performed by specialists of the Engineering and Aviation Service of Aviamarket LTD at the Bun'kovo landing site between 05:00 and 06:00 (work order No. 50/ОТО/04-24 dated 23 April 2024). Before the flight, the helicopter was fueled with 183 liters of AVGAS 100LL aviation gasoline (fuel request No. 273).
