On January 7, 2026, a Robinson R4ly helicopter, registration RA-04389, was involved in a fatal accident in the Bardymsky Municipal District of the Russian Federation. The aircraft, operated by LLC "Tattranskom," was performing maneuvers over the "Ashatli Park" recreation center when it struck metal cables used for a zip-lining device.
The flight began at 09:33 when the pilot-in-command took off from a private property in the settlement of Yelpachikha. After a brief stop in the settlement of Barda to pick up a passenger, the aircraft continued toward the resort. At approximately 10:02, while flying at an altitude of 26 meters with a heading of 270 degrees, the helicopter collided with the metal cables.
The impact destroyed the rotor blades, causing the pilot to fall from the aircraft. The pilot-in-command, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died as a result of the fall. The passenger also died inside the cabin.
Following the collision, the helicopter struck the frozen surface of a body of water, which led to the destruction of the aircraft. No flight plan had been submitted for the mission, and the pilot-in-command did not possess the required civil aviation pilot certificates or qualifications.
