What happened
During a scheduled training mission at Gdynia-Babie Doły Air Force Base, an aircraft experienced a critical loss of airspeed while on final approach. At the time of the incident, the crew was operating the aircraft with one engine intentionally disabled as part of the training procedure. As the plane approached the runway, it entered a low-speed stall.
In an attempt to recover, the crew initiated a go-around maneuver. However, the aircraft failed to maintain sufficient altitude and struck trees located at the end of the runway, resulting in a crash. The accident resulted in four fatalities among the occupants of the aircraft.
Findings
Investigations into the accident indicate that the aircraft stalled at low speed while the crew was managing a single-engine configuration during the approach phase.
