What happened
During an agricultural mission for the 'Rodina' collective farm near Dovorets, in the Novgorod region, a single-engine airplane was performing crop spraying operations. After finishing 15 completed rotations over the fields, the crew attempted to depart for a subsequent spraying flight.
While flying at an altitude of approximately 20 meters, the aircraft collided with power cables situated roughly 1,600 meters from the village. The impact caused the plane to crash 636 meters beyond the point of contact with the lines, subsequently resulting in an onboard fire.
The accident resulted in two fatalities. Both members of the flight crew sustained serious injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The copilot passed away several hours after the incident, and the captain died one day later.
