What happened

On the date of the incident, a single-engine aircraft departed from a remote location situated approximately 250 km west of Tura. The flight was being operated to transport two pilots and five passengers back to their destination following a trip to a fishing camp.

During the initial climb, at an altitude of roughly one meter, the crew experienced engine vibrations accompanied by an audible popping sound. In an attempt to manage the situation, the crew deployed the flaps to a 40° setting. The aircraft subsequently lost altitude, crossing over a river before striking the far bank.

Findings

While the investigation into the specific mechanical failure is ongoing, the aircraft sustained damage beyond repair. Of the seven people on board, six individuals evacuated the wreckage without injury, while the pilot sustained slight injuries during the impact.
