What happened
During the takeoff roll at Kuberganya Airport, a single engine aircraft experienced significant issues maintaining necessary altitude. Immediately following liftoff, the plane entered a stall and descended into a snow-covered area located approximately 171 meters beyond the runway threshold. The impact resulted in the aircraft being declared a total loss due to extensive damage. Despite the severity of the crash landing, all 15 occupants managed to exit the wreckage without sustaining any injuries.
Findings
An investigation into the accident revealed that the flight crew did not adhere to established operational protocols or complete the required pre-takeoff checklists. A critical error was identified regarding the configuration of the aircraft's flaps, which were set at an incorrect angle of 8° rather than the mandated 30°. During the initial climb, the co-pilot recognized this discrepancy and attempted to decrease engine thrust to abort the departure; however, the captain assumed control and elected to proceed with the takeoff. Ultimately, inadequate crew coordination and failure to follow standardized procedures were identified as key factors in the loss of altitude.
