What happened
This addendum pertains to an earlier investigation involving a Robinson R44 Clipper, registration G-KAZZ, which was involved in an occurrence at Sywell Airfield, Northamptonshire, on 9 July 2003.
The investigation
During the review of the investigation findings, a clerical error was identified in the original AAIB Bulletin (No 1/2004). The error was located within the description of the flight test procedures conducted at the airfield. Specifically, the text previously stated that "full power" was applied during the test.
Upon further examination, it was established that the description of the power application was inaccurate. The corrected record confirms that the test pilot applied power to approximately 23 inches of manifold pressure (MP) before raising the collective.
Findings
- The investigation established that the word 'full' was incorrectly included in the description of the power application during the arrival phase of the test flight.
