A twin-engine aircraft crashed into a lagoon shortly after departing Los Roques, resulting in minor injuries to all seven people on board.

What happened

A private flight departing from the island of Los Roques toward Charallave-Óscar Machado Zuloaga Airport ended in an accident during the early stages of flight. As the twin engine aircraft was performing its initial climb, the flight became uncontrollable. The aircraft subsequently impacted a lagoon located a short distance from the shoreline.

Upon impact, the airframe split into two separate pieces in the shallow water. Despite the structural failure of the plane, all seven occupants were able to evacuate the wreckage. There were no fatalities reported, though the crew and passengers sustained slight injuries during the event.
