What happened
During the final approach phase at La Paz-El Alto Airport, a twin engine airplane experienced a ground impact approximately one kilometer before reaching the runway threshold. Following the initial contact with the terrain, the aircraft slid through an adjacent field. The sequence of events concluded when the plane came to a stop after colliding with a stone wall.
Despite the force of the impact and the subsequent slide, there were zero fatalities or injuries reported among the occupants. All individuals on board managed to exit the wreckage safely.
Findings
The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss, as it was deemed beyond repair following the accident. The primary factor in the incident was the impact with the ground short of the runway threshold during the approach.
