What happened
Following its departure from Naples, a twin engine airplane entered a flight path that led to a collision with trees. The impact caused the aircraft to burst into flames, resulting in the total destruction of the airframe by fire.
At the time of the accident, the pilot was the only person on board the aircraft. While the pilot managed to escape the wreckage, they were not recovered following the crash event.
Findings
Official investigations concluded that the accident occurred during the initial climb phase. The primary factor in the crash was the selection of unsuitable terrain by the pilot during the ascent. Additionally, investigators noted suspicions regarding a potential drug operation related to the flight.
