Incident
Shortly after departing from Calvi-Sainte Catherine Airport, a military aircraft flying to Solenzara Airbase encountered an unexpected situation. The crew initiated an emergency landing, but the aircraft crash landed on a steep mountain slope near Occhiatana, approximately 12 kilometers from Calvi. The wreckage was discovered at an altitude of 1,300 meters close to the Bocca di Battaglia Plateau.
Aftermath
All six crew members on board were evacuated from the crash site. Two of them sustained injuries during the incident. Further details regarding the cause of the unexpected situation and the extent of the injuries have not been released.
