What happened
During a local training mission conducted for the 12 Wing, the crew of an aircraft encountered mechanical complications while operating near Kayseri-Erkilet Airport. In response to these technical issues, the pilot decided to execute an emergency return to the airfield. The approach to runway 25 was performed at a very low altitude over the nearby districts.
Upon making contact with the runway, the aircraft experienced a malfunction involving the left main landing gear. This caused the plane to slide for several hundred meters before losing directional control. The aircraft subsequently veered off the left side of the runway and came to a stop in a grassy area adjacent to the landing strip. There were no injuries reported among the crew members, all of whom were able to exit the aircraft safely.
Findings
- The aircraft experienced technical problems during the flight sequence.
- A failure or issue related to the left main gear contributed to the loss of directional control after touchdown.
