What happened
Shortly after departing from Leipzig-Halle Airport, an aircraft bound for Kraków, Poland, encountered technical complications. During the initial climb phase, the pilot notified air traffic control of these issues and received authorization to divert to Berlin-Schönefeld Airport.
Upon arriving at the diversion airfield, the aircraft type experienced a heavy touchdown on runway 25L. Following this impact, the crew was unable to decelerate the plane within the available runway length. The aircraft subsequently overran the end of the runway and came to a halt. While there were no fatalities or injuries reported among those on board, the incident resulted in the aircraft being damaged beyond repair.
