What happened
On the morning of the accident, a flight operated by the Vilgenis Instruction center departed from Paris-Orly Airport at 08:49 local time. The aircraft was conducting a training mission destined for Reims, carrying a total of five individuals: three pilots, one instructor, and one controller.
Following departure, the crew maintained visual flight rules (VFR) and climbed to an altitude of 3,000 feet, positioned above the cloud layer. At approximately 08:58 local time, the captain requested authorization from air traffic control to increase the flight altitude to 5,000 feet. During this communication, the aircraft experienced a sudden loss of control.
The aircraft type entered a steep dive, ultimately impacting a field in Dannemois, located roughly 31 kilometers south of Paris-Orly Airport. The impact forces and a subsequent post-crash fire resulted in the total destruction of the plane. There were five fatalities among the crew members, with no survivors recorded at the scene.
Findings
Official investigations into the incident concluded that the specific reason for the loss of control could not be determined with certainty.
