Aeroméxico reports 1.85 million September passengers as demand edges past capacity
Aeroméxico flew 1.853 million passengers in September 2026, with traffic growth slightly outpacing capacity and load factor holding at 87.1%. The carrier flagged higher jet fuel prices as a tougher cost backdrop.

Aeroméxico flew 1.853 million passengers in September 2026, a month in which demand grew slightly faster than capacity. Available seat miles rose 3.4% year on year and revenue passenger miles climbed 3.6%, the carrier said.
Load factor came to 87.1%, up 0.1 percentage points from September 2025. The airline said the traffic growth came alongside a continuing shift of its network towards key international markets, with performance outside Mexico described as strong. The figures landed even as demand eased after the peak summer travel season.
CEO Andrés Conesa attributed the result to a strategy of matching capacity closely to demand. He said the international tilt supported overall traffic growth.
Aeroméxico also warned that higher jet fuel prices have produced a more difficult cost environment than it had expected. The airline said it will keep adjusting where it deploys capacity and chase demand opportunities while keeping an eye on long-term profitability.
