Southwest Airlines will begin weekly Saturday service between Kansas City and San Juan, Puerto Rico, in June 2027, which local aviation officials say is the first nonstop link between the two cities.

Southwest Airlines plans to start a nonstop route between Kansas City and San Juan, Puerto Rico, in June 2027, according to the carrier. Flights will run once a week on Saturdays.
The Kansas City Aviation Department said the two cities have not previously been connected by a nonstop flight. Southwest already serves more than 30 domestic and international destinations from Kansas City.
In the Caribbean, its network from that airport includes Montego Bay in Jamaica and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, and it also flies to Cancún, Mexico. The airline recently announced a set of new routes and flights for the summer of 2027, among them services from Austin, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee.
