Air Algérie to route Berlin flights via Frankfurt for winter season

Air Algérie is set to keep its Berlin service running through the winter 2026/27 schedule, but will change how the route is flown. Starting October 31, the Algerian carrier plans to operate once a week on a triangular routing linking Algiers, Frankfurt and Berlin before returning to Algiers.

A Boeing 737-700 is expected to be used on the service, according to a report citing schedule-tracking data.

Before the switch takes effect, the airline is due to resume its Berlin connection on September 14 with a once-weekly nonstop flight between Algiers and the German capital. That nonstop pattern will run until the end of October, when the new three-city routing begins.

The adjustment means passengers travelling between Algiers and Berlin during the winter period will have a stop in Frankfurt rather than a direct flight, at least for part of the itinerary depending on direction of travel. No reason for the routing change was given in the available information.

Air Algérie's return to the Berlin market had already drawn attention earlier this year, and the airline appears to be maintaining its presence there into the next winter season despite the operational shift. Further details on pricing, flight timings or connecting service beyond the three cities were not disclosed.
