Air Cambodia to receive first Comac C909 jets in November 2026
Cambodia's civil aviation authority says the state carrier will take delivery of its first two Comac C909 regional jets next November, part of a 20-aircraft agreement with the Chinese manufacturer.
Air Cambodia will receive its first two Comac C909 aircraft in November 2026, a spokesperson for Cambodia's civil aviation authority told broadcaster RFI. The deal covers 20 of the Chinese-built regional jets in total.
Ten of the aircraft are expected to arrive gradually between late 2026 and early 2029, the authority said. The agreement with Comac was signed on July 17 in Shanghai.
The C909 jets are intended for short-haul routes within Southeast Asia and to China. They are meant to modernize and diversify the fleet of the state-owned carrier.
Air Cambodia has also ordered around 20 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, separately from the Comac deal. That order is reported to be worth roughly three billion dollars, or about 2.6 billion euros.
