Air New Zealand will end its codeshare arrangement with Qantas and widen its cooperation with Virgin Australia. The airline says the Qantas agreement runs until 7 April 2027.

Virgin Australia becomes Air New Zealand's main partner for connecting flights within Australia. Travellers would be able to book flights from New Zealand to many Australian destinations on a single through ticket.

According to Air New Zealand, about 90 percent of the Australian connecting destinations used by its passengers fall within Virgin Australia's network.
